Ok, first of all, f*** you guys and your persistent insistence that I read these damn books. While I haven't actually 'read' anything but a few chapters I have delved into the amazing world that Marsters does a damn fine job of bringing to light and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have finished the fourth book and can't wait to add more witty lines to my notes: "loopier than a crochet convention"!

It gets me thinking, have you ever watched a movie or a television show that got you hooked? That drew you into the characters so well that you crushed when it ended?

I get this way sometimes, mainly with movies. It ends and I want to follow their lives for a bit longer, wrap things up more completely, get another hint of mystery or an idea of who the characters are. The cliffhangers don't get me as much as just knowing that there is more to follow, a new adventure to start, and not a lot of mingling with the unfamiliar.

I guess you guys have gotten me back into it, the whole reading thing... Hells bells, I realize I haven't read anything meaningful in over a year until this little series came and sucked me in. To be fair, thus far I have only done the audio books and a few pages of light reading in-between to keep my pride intact; in public, though, I'll say I "read" the books, air quotations or not.

    Avatar: The Last Airbender. I got way too hooked on that series and was more excited than I should have been when a new episode was available. I wasn't too satisfied with the way the series ended and still want more (it felt rushed in the last couple of episodes).

    You can truthfully say that you have consumed the books. Reading isn't totally necessary.

OK I get it; you’ve been waiting to place your order. I know that I have been helping the cocktail servers, dinner servers and the manager, ignoring you in the process. I apologize that I helped the person closest to me after making 15 drinks for a table in the restaurant, I was not aware that you arrived before he did. I understand that the other bartender has ignored you as well because he is stuck at the other end of the bar where 10 other people are shouting at him. I’m sorry it has taken me 5 minutes to get to you, even though the first thing out of your cake hole was “I’ve been waiting for 15 minutes and you helped that other….yadda yadda…” But…..if you are going to bitch and moan about me being busy and wasting your time on your friends birthday when it’s your turn to buy rounds, you had better make damn sure that you know what you want to when I ask. I never understood ‘Business Casual’

Let me start out by stating that I hate, hate, hate business and business casual dress. I feel uncomfortable, stuffy and self conscious all day long. There are some people who tend to do well in slacks and a button down shirt. For example, FCJ seems to be very comfortable in the monkey suit that he has to wear to the office and if I remember correctly has been known to wear a similar costume when not in the office. Others like Captn. Punc. have only to don dress pants or slacks (I still don’t know the difference) during special events that require him to do so (i.e. he was told to do so). I believe the last time he had to wear them was during his wedding and I strongly suspect he had on jeans underneath. As for myself, the first thing I do when I get home is go change into something more to my liking, usually used-to-be blue jeans or lounge pants if I am not planning on going out again.
